Q: Where is the monitoring station located?

A: The monitoring station is located in Burnaby, BC.

 

Q: Should I test my security system?

A: Yes, you should test your system on a monthly basis. Before testing call the monitoring station at 1-800-567-4995 and have your password ready.

 

Q: What if my system is not working properly?

A: Please call us at 604-768-2321 or 604-835-2321 for support.

 

Q: How do I make changes to my call list?

A: Changes to your call list must be submitted to us in writing. This can be done by mail, fax 604-855-7255 or email info@safeguardsecuritybc.ca. Please include your name, address, your password or account number, and the specific changes required.

 

Q: If I trip the alarm, what should I do?

A: Enter your 4-digit code to disarm the system. Wait for the telephone line to clear. Then call the monitoring station 1-800-567-4995. You must provide your password to cancel police dispatch.

 

Q: What if I am going on holiday?

A: Please notify us in writing if you are going on vacation, and we can inform the monitoring station of any temporary instructions while you are away.

 

Q: Will my alarm system still work if the power goes off?

A: Yes, every alarm system is supplied with a backup battery, which will maintain your alarm for several hours. Once the power returns, it will recharge itself.

 

Q: Can I use VoIP with my security system?

A: No, this is not acceptable for alarm communication. A cellular backup unit is a possible alternative. Please call us for more information.
